Hello! Welcome to the blog. Today is a very fun and special day because it’s National Scrapbooking Day! On top of releasing my new summer collection ‘Hot Right Now’ today , I also have some very fun collaborations to celebrate NSD. I’m very excited for this collaboration with Spiegelmom Scraps. Jody was kind enough to send me some lovely goodies and I really had a ton of fun creating a layout with it (though I’m definitely planning on doing more in the future).
You will definitely want to check out the blogs of the girls down below because they will all be hosting fun challenges and there will also be giveaways.
USING PRINTABLES ON A LAYOUT
My challenge for you is to use printables in one of your layouts. As you may (or may not) know, I have been designing my own printable collections since the start of this year. I feel like people aren’t all that familiar with it yet and I would love to change this. One of the best things about printable collections is that you will never run out and can always print out more of your favorite papers/embellishments!
Of course you don’t have to go out and buy anything if you don’t want to, there are plenty of free printables you can find online which will show up if you do a little Google search. I have a few freebie packs up on this blog as well, which you can find here.
For this layout I am using my printable/digital Amy collection. I had punched out a lot of 1″ circles and played around with their positioning until I was happy with it. I then used one of the frames in my collection for my photo and added some of the gorgeous gold heart sequins from Spiegelmom Scraps to decorate my frame a little bit.
One of my personal favorite ephemera pieces in the Amy collection are these butterflies so I made sure to include a few of them on this layout too. I used some of the felt clouds Jody sent me to add a different texture to my layout and also because I felt like it matched quite well with the butterflies. Can you the beautiful gold doilie? I think I need like a 100 of those!
I recently got very much into making my own DIY flair buttons. Not only are they a lot of fun to make, they’re also a great addition to any project. Especially with printable collections, it’s a good idea to try and add different sort of textures because most of the time you will print your papers on normal paper so the addition of wood veneers, sequins, doilies, etc will make your layouts look that much better.
