Hello everyone! Today I am sharing the first layout I made with the Dear Lizzy Documentary collection that I got about a week ago. I had an idea in mind for what I wanted to do for the first layout and I’m quite happy with how it turned out even though the layout is quite simple.

The Documentary collection comes with a paper that has a bunch of circles. Some of them have text in them and others just have lovely patterns. When I first saw this paper I knew I wanted to cut those circles out and use them on a layout. While I love pretty much all the papers from the collection, I decided that it would probably be best to use white cardstock for my background. I ripped a piece of paper to bring some color to my page and also cut a strip of this gorgeous vellum papper with gold foiled stars. This is also the first time I used washi tape and I must say that I love the way it looks. I tried to rip some of the washi strips like Missy Whidden does a lot on her layouts but let’s just say that I need a little more practice to do it as well as her haha.

If you know me, you will probably know that I am a big fan of little accents such as stars, hearts, etc. The ephemera pack in this collection has pretty much only larger pieces. This is not a bad thing at all, it just means that I have to get my little accents elsewhere. Luckily for me, the sticker sheet and rub ons from this collection do have some smaller elements that will look really lovely on any page. I must admit that the rub ons did not come off as easily as the ones from the Amy Tangerine Finders Keepers collection. This is just something to keep in mind and lift the plastic up slowly so you can always just rub some more if it didn’t come off properly. I only used 2 rub ons on this layout so I can’t say that this applies to the whole pack (though it never hurts to be careful).

One of the things I was most excited to use were the wood buttons that came with the collection. I only used one because I am kind of hoarding them because I don’t want to use them up yet haha. I know that I say this a lot but I love the texture wood adds to a layout; I can’t believe that I only started using it a month ago!

This is a sticker from the sticker sheet and I just thought it would look nice on top of that red circle. This layout is not super busy in terms of layering behind the photo and the final layout is actually quite simple and easy to make. I spent most of my time ‘decorating’  the circles to make the ones that were a bit plain more interesting to look at.
